I love everything floral, earthy and anything that feels like I’m at the spa! I’ve been to a few restaurants that have decorative walls with greenery, flowers or candles and I couldn’t love them more. I wanted a wall of my own and I never knew it was possible until my friend Michelle said I could order one online nd DIY it. Fast forward 1 month and I have a have a picture of a completed boxwood wall to prove it! It does take time but overall it wasn’t overly complicated. Let’s get started!
What You’ll Need
Gabe ordered the boxwood wall as a surprise for Valentine’s Day this past year and bought it off of Amazon! You can shop the exact one by clicking here. It’s a 12 piece set with panels that can be used indoor and outdoor, and yes, it’s faux! We chose to build ours in the bathroom to give us that spa-like feel I was telling you about.
They’re 20″x20″ panels so measure the space you’re planning on decorating prior to ordering to ensure you’ll have enough. Ours ended up being a tad short but we decided to leave an even open space at the bottom and it turned out fine! Also, make sure you have nails and a hammer to hang the final product into place.
The Process
- Each piece has an attachment that latches into a corresponding piece. Find the match and hook the panels into place.
- From there, build the wall by hooking and latching each piece into the next. We connected the panels on the ground and then hung the finished product all at once. Some of the pieces were more difficult than others to latch so use a hammer to help lodge the hooks in. This was helpful when the fingers started to hurt!
- Hammer in the nails where you’d like to display your wall, then grab a second person to help carry and hang it! Ours moved a bit so we taped the bottom to make it more secure.
- Since we didn’t have enough pieces to cover the full bottom row, we cut and used the extras to fit around the light fixture.
The finished product was beyond perfect and everything I could’ve wanted! This is a versatile piece that adds a lot of character to a space and would look good in just about any room including the patio! Sometimes everyday life can feel a tad bit overwhelming, so there’s nothing better than coming home to a place that make you feel happy.
Till next time, friends!
