I was never a huge fan of drinking protein shakes until a few years back when it became part of my daily routine for a competition prep. I always used to say “I like to eat my calories not drink them”, but that’s when I was clearly confused and denied that Tito’s also had calories *insert eye roll*.
My recipe is SUPER simple and requires minimal ingredients, but I seriously think it’s so good!
Shake stuff:
milk

    • 1 TBSP of flaxseed meal
    • A handful of blueberries/strawberries
    • Solid splash of milk/kefir
    • A handful of ice
    • 1 scoop of protein powder
  • Optimum Nutrition Extreme Chocolate is the one I used!I’ve used peanut butter as well and my cousin once made me a shake w/ spinach and that made it even creamier! I posted only the ingredients I’ve been consistently using so feel free to mix it up! P.S. Using water is also acceptable, and I’ve absolutely used that in the past (sometimes I do half and half).
  • How To:
  • I throw all of the ingredients into a blender and hit start! I personally like my shake thicker (more of a milkshake consistency), so if it turns out too watery I just add more ice! Pour that bad boy into your favorite cup and enjoy. Packed with protein, fiber and some healthy fats from the flax. If you like your shakes on the sweeter side, feel free to add a drop or two of stevia– YUM.
Enjoy this guy in the morning or right after a workout! I’m looking forward to drinking one of these on the patio in the warm sunshine soon enough, rigghhht Cleveland?!
