What’s up, friends! Dropping in to share some new fan favorites I’ve implemented into my daily routine. I’ve been doing them for about two weeks and so far I’m pretty pleased with the results.

1. Drinking more naturally flavored water. My cousin turned me on to her concoction of ginger lemon water and I’ve been a fan since. It’s helped my bloating and curbed my appetite, not to mention the benefits of lemon and ginger are endless. I personally need more citric acid incorporated into my diet, and it’s been a tasteful and natural way to boost my levels.

All I do is slice up a few lemons, chop up some ginger, and throw them into a pot of water. Bring that water to a boil and then let it sit! You can let the lemon and ginger steep for a few hours or you can drink it immediately. I’m super impatient so I’m usually drinking the not so steeped water hehe. If I’m not in dire need right at that moment, I’ll let it sit in the fridge till the next day. Either way, you can’t go wrong.

2. Eating till I’m full.  I used to live by the premise of eating 5-6 small meals a day, but lately I’ve retreated to my old ways and so far it’s been working in my favor. Instead of having smaller meals throughout the day, I’ve been making 2-3 larger meals instead. I simply feel better when I feel full–a novel idea I know. I’ve noticed I tend to snack more when I have smaller portions, and my snacking skills usually lead to overeating. I don’t think there is anything wrong with the 5-6 smaller meals, which in fact, that method worked really well for me during my competing years. With all variables considered, I was way more food focused and OCD about meal timing back then so with the change in priorities, I’ve decided to change up my routine. I’ll probably continue to incorporate this method as long as it keeps working in my favor.

3. Essential Oils
My roomie and one of my best friends for 10+ years got me in to the essential oil craze. She has a whole bag full of magical liquids that cure just about any issue you might be having. Hello peppermint oil, thanks for always treating my headaches like the magical saint that you appear to be. I’ve never been big on medications for any type of issue and prefer to go about things the more natural way, so I knew this would be right up my alley. While at the party, they had a machine that scanned your hand which basically gave you a list of your top main issues, and to no surprise, ALL of mine were digestion related- yay!

digizeI decided to order the oil for digestion called Digize. When the product first came in I
only used it if I was having a stomach ache of some sort. Now, I try and put it on every morning or before a meal. I honestly love it. My bloating has absolutely decreased (which may be a combo of all the action steps I’m taking) along with my occasional stomach discomfort, resulting in a very happy little Lauren. I rub a little bit of coconut oil (acts as a carrier) on my stomach and behind my ears and then add 2-3 drops of the oil.

The key to success with any change is to consistently keep doing it. Giving your body enough time to adjust will allow you to make an educated decision to best judge whether or not these new practices are aiding in your health and wellness and or weight loss journey.

Till next mi amigos!
